Acupuncture Precautions & Informed Consent

Do not receive acupuncture on an empty stomach.

Please empty your bladder before the session.

Wear loose and comfortable clothing.

Inform the acupuncturist of allergies to metal, alcohol, or mugwort.

Women should inform the acupuncturist if menstruating, trying to conceive, pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum.

Inform the acupuncturist of serious conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, heart, blood, or liver/kidney diseases).

Inform the acupuncturist if taking anticoagulants or psychiatric medications.

Those with limited mobility should be accompanied.

Sensations such as soreness, numbness, pressure, or radiation are normal. No bathing within 2 hours after treatment. Bruising, lumps, or pain may appear at the needle site. Redness, itching, or scabbing may be signs of a mild allergic reaction.
